Record low temperatures in Florida have folks headed indoors. But what about people whose jobs are in large part outdoors? Can they ask bosses to reassign them to indoors tasks? Or take the day off? Can an employee get in trouble (be fired?) for refusing to work in near-freezing temperatures? Can employers get in trouble for forcing employees to do so?

Jacksonville attorney Bob Riegel, head of the statewide employment law practice for Fowler White Boggs, offers tips in today’s Florida Times-Union for employees and employers alike on how to weather¬†these unseasonably chilly¬†temperatures.
