Tampa patent attorney Woody Pollack pens an op-ed in the Tampa Tribune offering a sensible approach to patent reform. He recently scored a rare victory for a client before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Location-based marketing firm Shopkick Inc. had sought in three inter partes reviews to invalidate related software patents held by competitor Novitaz Inc., represented by Pollack. The panel of patent judges ruled in Novitaz’s favor. A Stanford educated computer scientist, Pollack is with the Florida-wide law firm of GrayRobinson.
