Story in today’s Tampa Bay Times about how an Ohio man has filed suit against Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute, claiming doctors failed to properly diagnose and operate on him, leaving him severely and permanently injured.
In the lawsuit, filed in Hillsborough County Court by Tampa trial attorney Steve Yerrid, Ronald Ray Davis alleges – among other things – that doctors improperly submitted him to a harrowing seven-hour surgery in a facility meant only for outpatient procedures. Unprepared to care for him when after surgery he was unable to stand or feel his legs, doctors were forced to dial 911 and send him to a nearby hospital, where he remained for nearly two weeks, the lawsuit alleges.
And a recent Bloomberg story chronicling Laser Spine Institute’s growing legal troubles, including Davis’ lawsuit.
